Just returned from my first long trip with the HRV and as expected the car performed excellently.

Glasgow to Inverness, mostly on dual carriageway with some motorway and single carriageway. ACC set at 60mph with the occasional higher speed to overtake the odd HGV.
Trip showed 53.8mpg, real 55.4mpg, i.e. filling petrol tank and then dividing distance travelled by petrol added.

Inverness to Glasgow with the same mixture of roads and ACC setting.
Trip showed 55.4mpg, real 50.0mpg

Overall mpg 51.9

Sounds good and good to hear that the car performed well.

Can you please advise on how smooth the car was over the whole journey

Crawford,

Very smooth, only one issue and that was noise on very rough road surfaces but that has been the same for all the cars I have owned.

Thanks Ron for the reply.

Glad to hear your comments re smoothness

There seemed to be so many comments re noise but this is reassuring

My expected delivery date is still May/June and looking forward to it.

I’m impressed with the m.p.g. you achieved and your comment about the smooth ride.
All I need to do now is convince “SWMBO” that the road noise is acceptable and after a few hundred miles she will have got used to it…….. if this works, I’ll get my order in!

I had a similar experience recently when I took a long trip with a rental car. I was amazed at how smooth the ride was, especially for the long stretches through Florida, but the slight noise on certain road textures stood out to me too. It didn’t bother me that much though, as the overall performance made up for it.

Quynha,

Assuming the rental you drove in Florida is less than year old and was a Honda HRV it's not the same vehicle as the UK/European HRV. The USA HRV is badged as the ZRV in the UK/Europe.

Speaking of smooth rides, if you're ever looking for a blend of adventure and tranquility, you might find resort information about Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo to be intriguing. It’s a perfect spot for a family-friendly getaway or even just to try something new, like glamping, which is hands down my favorite!

'Smooth' is not really the same as 'quiet'.
My eHEV HR-V was very smooth, ridewise, but one of the noisiest modern cars, tyre roar and wind etc that I have ever owned.
Honda obviously do not believe in sound deadening on their 'cheaper' cars. When I swapped the above for an eHEV CR-V it was lovely and quiet in comparison,.
