I'm a mature driver (mid-60s) who is on a steep learning curve with Honda Jazz and, hybrids. As you can imagine I am discovering a million and one things that I didn't know, and I'm happy to just relax and learn as I drive.
For now, I'd appreciate advice on just a couple of questions:
1: I have a "keyless" Advance. My biggest fear is being stranded a long way from home and suddenly unable to open or drive my car because the battery in the key fob is dead. I understand that there is a way of extracting the key from the fob so that you can unlock the car manually and then somehow engage power once inside the car, but that looks quite tricky. Do you get a warning on the car dashboard when the key fob battery will soon need replacing, so that you can take your spare key until you get the battery replaced in your master? It would be reassuring to think that you do!
2. I notice from the user manual that Honda state categorically that the vehicle is designed to operate on premium unleaded petrol. They add that the use of regular unleaded petrol will...."result in decreased engine performance", and even more starkly "the long-term use of regular-grade peterol can lead to engine damage."
How much notice do others take of this? I wasn't expecting to have to use "premium" petrol when I bought my car, and my previous car (a 2009 Toyota Yaris) certainly gave me no engine problems fed on standard unleaded.
Many thanks in advance for the advice of more seasoned, experienced Jazzers!
New to Jazz and hybrids...advice please

1. It's not difficult to extra the physical key from the key fob. Try it. After which the key fob needs to be near the power button when you press it so the car can sense the security chip embedded in the fob.
2. I've always fed my Honda petrol engines with 95 octane fuel without any ill-effect. All the brochures / handbooks refer to 95 octane fuel. I think that "premium" is used for those countries where there is lower grade fuel than 95 octane.
Which year/model Jazz do you have? For 2020 onwards you can disable the key fob when it's not in use which both reduces the battery consumption and protects against relay theft.

I agree with John, regarding the petrol. 95 octane is fine.
